Hard Drive Race: Conventional Vs SSD
Dec 2, 2007 By AgentOrange Technology
The video shows a boot race between two Sony TZ91 running on XP with (Left) 200GB 5400RPM HD and (Right) 64GB SSD. Check out how the solid state disk won by approximately 12 seconds of boot time form the conventional hard drive. You can get the SSD upgrade for an extra $1000. You can now ask yourself how much is 12 seconds of your time worth?

heck, you can’t count the BIOS POST time which takes near 12 sec.
Without that, SSD boots always twice as much faster as regular HD

It’s not just boot. You’ll save a lot more time with everything else. The write speed is a little bit slower but everything else reads 2 - 4 times faster than the Conventional HDD (Hard Disk Drive)
