Cameroid: Photo Snaps With Effects Using Your Webcam

Cameroid is a service that allows you to take headshots using your webcam straight from your browser. There’s no need to download or install a webcam software that allows you to take stills and add effects to your snapshots. Simply head over to the site to take a photo and quick share them online.

The web app allows you take snapshots using several effects. You can take a photo of you with the filter, distort, framed or with scenario. Of course, there’s the regular clear snapshot with no effect.

To use the service, it’s self explanatory that you’ll need a webcam. Go to the “Snap” tab and grant the application access to your webcam. Choose which effect you’d like to use and click the “Take Photo Button.” You can either save your image to a Cameroid gallery, download the JPG version or use the URL link to share your image.

Creating a gallery in Cameroid can be accomplished easily. Simply take your first snapshot and click the save to gallery button. You will be prompted to enter your email address which pretty much covers the registration process. Everytime you save a photo on your gallery, you’ll receive an email from Cameroid containing the URL link to your snapshot so that you can immediately forward them to your contacts. To view previously saved images, just enter your email (no password needed) and browse the photos saved on your cameroid gallery.

BoostCam: Disposable Video Conferencing Site

BoostCam is a service that provides free, instant and disposable two-way video conferencing. You can use it right away without installing any plugins.

To start your disposable video conference, just head over to their site and allow access to your web cam. You will be provided with a unique URL for you to share with the second party. BoostCam is a two way video chat service. If you want to have another video conference with a different user, you can open a new tab on your browser, and repeat the process. It’s like having a tabbed video conference using your browser. Just make sure that the other party is online and he/she must start the session as soon as possible. The page is set to expire after a few minutes of waiting for the other party to join.

This is a great instant service that allows you to start a video conference in a snap and also great if you do not wish to share your IM account. You can use this for short online tutorials that would require you to broadcast or have a video chat with your Twitter buddy without revealing your IM or email address.

The service offers to fix dark grainy videos by automatically adjusting contrast and uncovering hidden details in dark areas. In order to get started, just signup for a free account and start uploading your video file and start processing the video. You can also take advantage of this feature through your phones. Just email the videos from your phone or register your phone number with them to) and have your videos added to your collection /gallery which will be available for sharing after the enhancement.

You can download your enhanced video in Windows Media , iPod ( Quicktime), and Flash video format. An embed code is also available for sharing in blogs and social sites.  You can also grab a high resolution snap shot JPEG picture from any video. Just click pause and hit the capture button and a JPEG image will be created from the frame of the said video.
