A Bittorrent Multi Search Engine

May 30th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Cool Sites

Are you tired of switching from different torrent sites just to find the Bittorrent file that you are looking for? Sometimes you even have to open multiple torrent sites on different tabs of your browser just to see if even one of them will return the result that you need. If all this work is bothering you and want a solution for this then maybe you check out LookTorrent.

LookTorrent is a Bittorrent multi search engine where you can do your torrent searches and browsing in a single page. What it actually does is it gathers your search keyword and compares it with the other Torrent sites then it returns a list of torrent sites where your keyword made a positive match. LookTorrent is not a Bittorrent aggregator and it does not display the results in its pages. It just tells you the possible bit torrent sites you can visit to download the torrent file that you are looking for by loading the original torrent site within its page. This makes it easy for the user to switch from different torrent sites to see each respective torrent search results from within LookTorrent.

The Return of the Demonoid

April 13th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Cool Sites

After months of being offline, the popular semi private (invite only) BitTorrent tracker Demonoid has returned. Demonoid was closed down because of the threats made by the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Assosciation) to the company renting the servers to them. Within the few months of shutdown, the site was changed into a forum in order to keep the members together. After a few weeks of reports coming in about numerous responses of Demonoid trackers from different countries (now in Ukraine), the site is finally back up and running again. Deimos resigned as administrator and handed over the administrative job of the site to Umlauf.

Since a few months ago, Deimos, the site administrator, lacks the necessary time to take care of the website, because of personal matters he’s been needing to attend to. For this reason, he has decided to leave the site staff.

Before leaving, he assigned a new site administrator from among his friends to take care of the site. The old moderator team will continue helping with the site, unchanged. We will try to keep running everything just as it always has been.

The trackers and website seem to be working properly, and should any issues arise, they will be taken care of as soon as possible. The site might be going on and offline over the next days as we work out any problems.

January 9th, 2008 | 3 Comments | Posted in Cool Sites

youtorrent.jpgIf you are looking for a rather rare file, YouTorrent can help you by returning results by number of seeds from other torrent sites. BitTorrent search engines aren’t new, there are quite a few sites offering this kind of service like Torrentz, TorrentScan and Scrapetorrent. All these sites gives good results in BitTorrent searches.

What is different about YouTorrent is its ability to scan other torrent sites for torrent files in real time, and gives fast results. Another great thing about the site is it is (STILL) Ad free and doesn’t turn your BitTorrent hunt into a popup nightmare. Until a better site comes along, this is by far the best place to start your BitTorrent searches.
