Blerp: Share Everything and Make Comments Anywhere

May 19th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Cool Sites

blerpHow many times have you encountered an article or a page on the internet that doesn’t allow you to make comments or some form of reaction? In order to start a discussion about a website or webpage that doesn’t allow comments, they are often submitted to social networking sites where everybody can say what they want.

Blerp is a brand new social sharing site that allows you to make comments on any website, even if that website does not allow comments on their pages. You can view the shared page or website right on your Blerp desktop and make a discussion over the page itself. People can comment, react with images, add videos videos and insert widgets on any webpage. The actual webpage will, of course, not display these “blerps.” They are only viewable on Blerp.

What I like about the service is that it boxes the webpage or the website within itself. It makes it convenient for the user to either make a blerp comment or make an actual comment on the viewed page provided that commenting is allowed or available.

This interesting new social network will give users a unique discussion experience about anything you see online. With the wide range of “reaction” tools that we can use, I’m sure Blerp will attract certain social media users who want to try out something new.

There’s a social networking feature that allows users to invite friends to draw on their wall and vice versa. A simple chat widget can also be loaded from your wall that will allow you to communicate with your doodlewall friends.

The Doodle Wall is very simple and straight forward. There’s no special tool that you can choose from. It’s designed only for doodling. The only drawing tools you get are three sized free-hand pens and a color picker. There’s a clear button, a back button and a save button. That’s just about it.

Challenge My Brute

April 14th, 2009 | 167 Comments | Posted in Games

mybruteMyBrute is a simple fighting slash role playing game with a little mix of social networking. The game starts like most role playing games where you get choose and customize your character. After creating your character, you’ll need to find someone to fight. Here’s where it gets a bit interesting. During the fight, you are not required to do anything but watch and hope that your character wins. You are allowed to do only a few fights per day and each time your character levels up, you’ll get a new weapon or pet depending on the character you chose.

create-my-brute-characterWhat’s interesting about the game is the element of surprise. You’ll never know what kind of scenario is going to be played during the fight. You can choose to fight a character with weaker stats but the outcome could be affected by the weapon(s) that the other character wields. Items and weapons will be given to you as your character’s level improves. Your character’s fight will be played for you which can be frustrating at times but its selling point of the game.

The social networking side of MyBrute allows you to recruit members and get some experience points. You can also join a clan if you want to. I’m just not sure of what are the incentives in joining a clan. Creating a character in MyBrute does not require you to sign up. Once your character name is validated (never been used) you can immediately start playing. This however, prevents you from joining clans and your character is open and can be played by others. If you want to be the only one to play you character, simply add a password and get access to other features of the game.

If you’re up for a bit of fun on your break, check it out and challenge MyBrute.
