July 6th, 2011 | Comments Off | Posted in Tips N Tricks

Instagram is a great iPhone app for sharing photos on Facebook, Twitter  Email and other social networking sites. The only problem is that if you don’t share your photos on the aforementioned social networking sites or email, there’s no easy way to access them online through your computer. Well, not anymore. Instaport will help you backup your entire Instagram photo collection to your hard drive the easy way without opening your iPhone.

To download your Instagram photos, simply allow Instaport access to your Instagram account and choose which export service you want to use and hit the “Start Export” button. As of now you can only choose the Download Zip file option. In the future, Instaport will let you backup your Instagram photos to your Facebook and Flickr accounts.

How to Share and Download an Entire Album from Flickr

June 23rd, 2011 | Comments Off | Posted in Tips N Tricks

Sometimes, a friend will ask you to send them and entire album of photos even if you’ve uploaded them to your Flickr account. The common reason for this is that it takes to damn long to go through each photo and download them manually. Thankfully, there’s a web app that you can use to share an entire Flickr album that is ready for downloading.

FlickAndShare will let you share and download and entire Flick set in three simple steps. The first step is to connect your Flickr account with FlickAndShare. Then, simply choose the set to share. You’ll be given a short link to download all the photos in your set. The final step is of course to share the link and let your friends download the photos you’ve shared.

This simple web app will save you and your friends a lot of time if you’re sharing a large amount of photos, especially if you’re sharing the same album to a number of people. Upload to your Flickr account, create a link and let them download. Simple.

Dear Photograph is a photo blog with a unique concept. The photos that you’ll see in Dear Photograph are old photos photographed to match the exact same scene. It combines vintage photos with modern photography and I have to say that the results are actually pretty awesome.

If you have a vintage photo that you want published on Dear Photograph, they accept submissions from readers/viewers. A great way of showing how much has changed over the years.

Have Fun with your Photos by Converting them to HTML Text Art

May 30th, 2011 | Comments Off | Posted in Cool Sites

Want another cool thing to do with your photos? Try Textify! It kinda functions like a Photo to ASCII Art converter. The difference is that you get to input which character set to use instead of taking the entire ASCII character set and stuff them all in the text art.

Another great thing about the web app is that aside from keeping most of the details, it keeps the color as well, which you can easily change to black and white by simply ticking the “black and white” box. You can also adjust the amount of characters that you want to appear on the converted text art, select a font size, choose a font family and font weight.

You can use Textify to create some sort of modern digital art out of your photos, have some fun with your friends by playing “guess who’s on the photo” after textifying. Instead of blurring the photos, simply use the app. Or, you can just Textify your photos and see what they look like just for the heck of it.

Speechable: Add Speech Bubbles To Your Photos

April 22nd, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in Design, Tips N Tricks

Speechable is a free photo service where you can easily upload and add speech bubbles to your photos and of course share them with your online buddies.

Using the service is really easy. First, you have to make sure that your photo is in an acceptable format before you upload it. Speechable accepts image files from most digital cameras and cell phones, so there’s only a slim chance that you’ll be having problems with your photo upload. Speechable accepts JPG, BMP, TIF and PNG file formats.

After making sure that your photo is of the right format, simply click either the “From Your PC” image or “From an URL” image in order to start the upload. File browse your photo if it’s from your computer or copy and paste a URL if it’s from another website or photo host. After waiting for a few seconds to a couple of minutes, you’re now ready to place speech bubbles on your photo.

Note: Photos cannot be larger than 800 pixels by 600 pixels. Images that are too large are resized to the largest acceptable size.

Instead of explaining to you on how to properly place your speech bubbles, you can simply watch the instructional video provided. See the video below:

After you save your Speechable photo, you will have the option to make it private. That means your Speechable photo will not appear in the on the Gallery page, but you can still link to it and email it to your friends!

With Speechable, you can truly share with your friends how many words is your picture worth. May it be just for fun with or to send a heartwarming message to someone, this tool will definitely bring out the words out of your photos.
