FFSummary: Summarizes your FriendFeed Feeds

ffsummaryAre you a FriendFeed user but having trouble keeping up with your friend’s feeds? FFSummary will send you a summary consisting of the most popular posts in your feed. The summary will be sent to your email on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. This way you won’t have to worry about missing popular trends found on your FriendFeed.

To use the free service, simply grant it access to your FriendFeed account and hand them your email address. The next step is to create a new notification. Just select from daily, weekly or monthly summary and place the number of entries you want to be emailed to you (you can select up to 30 entries). You can also select multiple types of summaries. If you want feed summaries to be delivered to you on a daily and monthly basis, all you have to do is add another notification.

This is a great way of tracking friend feeds if you don’t have time to check your FriendFeed account all the time. With FFSummary, you can schedule your updates and get only the most popular ones. You won’t have to miss popular trends due to massive updates made by your FriendFeed buddies.

Get Notification When a Website Goes Down

Here are a few tools that you can use to find out if a site is down. Some of these tools will also notify you when it goes back up again.

Ding It’s Up: Get email, SMS and Twitter notification when a site goes down and when it’s up again.

NotifyMee: It sends you an email when a downed site you want to visit reappears on the internet. It follows a downed site and lets you know when it returns. It should be very useful next time your favorite weblog is unreachable or a link you really want to check out crashes under the weight of its popularity. It also outputs a tweet to notify other people that the site is down and when it goes back up.

IsitFucked: A simple tool that you can use to find out if a website is down.

Is this Down: Another tool to check if a site is down for everyone or if it’s only down on your computer or your location.

SparkTooth: Track Keywords on a Website and Get Notified

sparktoothAre you patiently waiting for an article to appear on a website? Now, you don’t have to refresh or constantly visit the site where your desired keyword might appear. You can get an email notification when a phrase or keyword appear on a website or blog through SparkTooth.

All you need to do is enter the phrase or keyword along with the URL of the website you want to track plus your email address. You will be notified when the word or set of words appear on the website. The service checks websites every 10 minutes and once it finds what you’re looking for, your email will be removed from the system. The tool only searches the URL that you have provided and not the entire domain. This will prevent you from getting the wrong notice in cases that the website previously published an article or post with keywords similar to what you are looking for.

SparkTooth simply makes it easier for us to track certain keywords that relate to an article that we are interested in. I may not be an everyday app for some but for those who constantly track the web, this will surely come in very handy.

Site Down? Get Notified when it’s Up Again or when it Goes Down

Is your favorite site down for maintenance or having server problems? Here’s a quick way to find out when it will go online. DingIt’sUp is a micro site which allows you to get notified when a website will come back from the dead after a downtime.

To use the service, just enter the URL of the website you want to track. You can choose whichever of the three ways for DingIt’sUp to get in touch with you. You can either get notified via email, SMS (text message) or Twitter.

This is a neat tool for site owners, who experiences downtimes with their sites due to whatever reason. They can get notification the moment that their site is up again or when it goes down. Users can also save time waiting for their favorite sites to go up again, constantly refreshing the page and hoping that it will go online. Just do some something else or go out, have fun. Wait for the notification. Twitter users will find this service very interesting. Get notified via Twitter when it (Twitter) comes back live again? Why not.
