iMapFlickr: Create an Embeddable Customized Map of Geotagged Flickr Photos

December 11th, 2009 Posted in Design, Technology

ImapFlickriMapFlickr is a web application that allows you create an interactive map with geolocated images on it using the Google Maps and Flickr API. With this tool, you’ll be able to easily create something that normally requires a web developer.

The map only takes a few minutes to create. You need to find your Flickr Photoset(s). In order to do that, you need to enter one piece of information from your Flickr account. You can choose to enter the email address linked to your Flickr account, your Flickr URL or Flickr ID. Once your Photosets appear simply click the “Create Map” link on each respective photoset. Once the map is created, you can simply insert a small HTML snippet in your website where you want it to display.

This is the easiest way to create a custom Google Map(s) from your geotagged Flickr photos in a non-technical manner. Embed them in your website or blog. You can also share them on your Facebook, Twitter or your favorite social networking site.
