ColorPX: Retro Pixel Drawing Tool

February 2nd, 2009 Posted in Cool Sites

colorpx-logoColorPX is a simple online tool that you can use to create drawings one pixel at a time. The only thing that you need is a little imagination and a bit of creativity. No need to sign up or register for an account. You can start creating your pixel art as soon as you land on the website.

Basically, you are given a pixel drawing board. You can choose the size of your drawing area by selecting the number of pixels you want on your board (1024, 512, 256). Just select your color and start clicking on the grid. You can expand or reduce the grid without deleting your current work. To delete a pixel just select the color #FFFFFF (white) and apply it on the pixel you want erase. You can of course download your creations after you’re done. You can use them for avatars, logos or just look at them and be proud.

ColorPX also has a sharing page where users can submit their creations and others can vote on them. Looking at the submissions reminds me of the good old pixelated days. Check some of the pixel drawings below. Have fun.
